Dr. DiMarzio

Dr. Lisa DiMarzio received her Bachelor of Sciences from University of Maryland in Biochemistry. She attended University of Maryland School of Medicine and also completed her internship and residency at University of Maryland. She practiced on the Eastern Shore of Maryland for two years before relocating to Annapolis in 1993. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. She enjoys her free time with her husband, two children and many pets. She also enjoys soccer, gardening and reading.

Dr. Gordon

Our Doctors

Dr. Gordon was born in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up in Rockville Centre on Long Island where he attended South Side High School. He received his BS Degree in Biology from Widener College in 1972. After college he worked for several years as a counseling therapist for drug addicts in Manhattan, at the Bernstein Institute, part of Beth Israel Hospital. In 1974, he went to France to study medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of Tours.

He completed his Doctoral Degree and Internship in 1983. He then returned to the U.S. where he went on to complete a three year Internal Medicine Residency at Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Md. After finishing residency, he became boarded in Internal Medicine and began practicing in the Annapolis area. He and his wife live locally; they have one son, Jeremy.

Dr. Jackson

Dr. Jackson is a native of Virginia and pursued undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah and then medicine at the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, Virginia., graduating in 1981. He completed internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. After completing residency, Dr. Jackson came to Annapolis in 1984 and began practicing General Internal Medicine.

He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and has also completed training and board certification in Geriatrics. He enjoys the close patient interaction that is unique to this specialty and the opportunity to develop relationships over many years with his patients. He values most spending time with his family of six children but also enjoys cycling, tennis, computers and woodworking.

Dr Birgitta Miller is a native Annapolitan, and she returned to her hometown to practice medicine in 1996. Her education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Maryland, and a Doctor of Medicine, also from the University of Maryland. She completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC.


Recent coursework includes earning a certificate in Medical Acupuncture from UCLA. At Greater Annapolis Medical Group, Dr. Miller's practice emphasizes preventive and wellness care, as well as medical care for patients with complex and chronic illnesses. Outside of the office, her interests include hiking, sailing, and gardening.

Dr. R. Miller

Dr. Robert Miller trained at University of Maryland, School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He did one year of Pulmonary Fellowship at University of Maryland Hospital and went into general practice as an Internist in 1986. He has worked at Primedical clinic and Kaiser Permanente for four years and then joined the practice of Dr.'s Hochman, Gordon, and Miller in 1990.

He then joined the practice of Dr.'s Jackson, Verkouw, Kinzer, Gordon, et al in 1995 where he has been practicing Internal Medicine in a group setting ever since. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and does out-patient practice. He is married and has one son and one daughter. He enjoys boating, bare-foot water skiing. weight lifting, and the out-doors.

Dr. Okeefe

Dr. O'Keefe, a native of Baltimore, graduated cum laude in Biology and Medical Technology at Towson University. Initially in a Botany and Plant Pathology track, he switched paths and attended University of Maryland Medical School for both internship and residency. After graduating, he spent ten years in practice on the Eastern Shore, where he was elected chair of the Dept. of Medicine at Memorial Hospital in Easton.

He relocated his practice to Annapolis in 1997, where he and his wife raise their two children. Dr O'Keefe's special practice interests include HIV care and preventative medicine. His hobbies include gardening, art/and hiking (when not transporting children to sporting events!)
